The "lame-ish" chroma keying you refer to is the result
of lame-ish lighting. Standing close to a blue wall will
result in the wall acting as a reflector. To deal with
this, I suggest using a 1/4 CTO (pale yellow/orange color
correction) on the _backlight_ to counteract the blue bounce.
Careful attention paid to clip levels and hue tuning help
as well. Sometimes, TD's are not what they oughta be, or
someone has gone and tweaked the settings unknown to the
TD or engineer. Yes, it looks bad. No, it's not without
remedy. Fact is, lighting is a _serious_ craft and requires
a higher level of care than most of us doing TV have the time
to take, at least not as often as we'd like...
